Seribu Island Regency together with Electrical Engineering Vocational Program, Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ) installed hybrid public street light with solar and wind energy sources on Tidung Island's Love Bridge, Tidung Island Urban Village, Seribu Selatan Island.
This innovation is important
Seribu Island Regency's UKT 2 Lighting Section Head, Wibi Abdi said the hybrid street light applies internet of things (IoT) technology as the work of the PNJ electrical engineering department student.

Wibi explained that the use of IoT-based hybrid street light can increase energy efficiency and sustainability to fulfil lighting needs in the island such as Tidung Island.
According to him, this project is part of a community service program supported by a Matching Fund grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
"Hopefully the devices will also support the tourism activity in Tidung Island. We also seek further cooperation
related with the devices maintenance," he added.Meanwhile, PNJ's Electrical Engineering Department Head, Murie Dwiyanti (22) explained the technology combines solar and wind panel connected via the IoT. It allows the real time monitoring and operating.
"The hybrid street light is equipped with sensor to detect temperature, humidity sunlight intensity, air pollution, wind speed, wind direction, and rainfall," she explained.
She added that all parameters are integrated through IoT and can be monitored real time via smartphone.
"It eases the surrounding monitoring. We'll keep an eye for those devices," she admitted.
